How long have you been serving in Costa Rica?

I came to Costa Rica after graduating from Taylor University (IN) in June of 2005.

What are your primary areas of ministry responsibility?

Micro Business Development. There is a group of ladies from our churches in Los Guido and Tejarcillos that meet each week to hand make cards, bookmarks, magnets, etc. with dried leaves and flowers that they go into the mountains to collect. These are then sold to help provide a small income for the families.

Older Teen Group. There is a precious group of young people ages 14-24 that meet weekly to play games,
share a meal, and study the Bible. I am coordinating this group and teaching the young ladies during the study time.

Teaching Responsibilities.  Of course, I am teaching in discipleship groups, many of which are focused in the area of La Carpio. I hope to start soon classes to teach the youth to read and write since many of them are not in school in this area. In addition, I have classes to teach how to play instruments like the guitar and the recorder. I lead the choir and drama teams in Los Guido.

Leading Missions Trips. I am traveling with small groups from the New Life Church of Los Guido to Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, where where we are working with a local Pastor in the area of discipleship. Pastor Santiago is working on the translation of the discipleship books to be used with the Miskitu communities surrounding Puerto Cabezas.

Hospitality Coordinator. I oversee the CLFCR mission house and am living there to serve the many teams and families that come to the serve the Lord with us and visit us.
